Good points, Andy. Of course, if you _plan_ an alternate exit, you would do just as you suggested. In any case, it behooves the individual diver to ask questions about the dive - where do other lines go? what other exits are there? emergency plans? Line protocol? etc etc.... If ya don't ask, you won't know. I spoke recently with someone who commented that they didn't find all those 1000's and 1000's of feet of line in such and such a cave; They hadn't asked, either. "Trust Me Dives" are just that - "trust me to get you in, and trust me to get you out." Most of the visitors to the systems in the Yucatan use a guide on their first trip, and that's really a "Trust Me" situation. If somehow you lose ME, it's not longer a "Trust Me", it's "Trust Yourself" and ya better be prepared to do just that. harve Harve Thorn TThorn@co*.ua*.ed*
