In the two Akumal cases I'm personally familiar with, no length of line = would have made a difference and certainly no NSS/CDS or NACD policy = played any role. If divers are planning to use alternate exits than the original entry = point, then it would appear wise to first scout those alternate exits = out and set up lines from the permanent line to the surface as needed.
