Mike, perhaps you can tell us all in what meetings you discussed the booze
issue, the attempt at interfering with the WKPP, that drooling goober Jone's
fake post to cavers calling me "gay" , the issue of heart attack victims
teaching cave under CDS, and the censorship of the UWS editor for printing
an article written by me. Also, how did you do getting back the money stolen
by Broom's kid? I never heard any more about that one.

You guys are a real asset - to nobody.

  Subject: CDS BOD Actions

What have we done the last two Board meetings....Wayne Marshall, he left
the Board back in 1997, but he has paid back about $5000 of the money he
stole and we were able to use that money, plus some other funds, to help pay
down the Cow Springs mortgage by $10,000. Hopefully he will continue to
repay the money he embezzled from us.

We talked quite a bit about Cow Springs and the erosion problems there, as
well as the problems brought on by the closure of nearby Running Springs.
We authorized up to $3,000 to make improvements on the property to allow for
a designated parking area, stop the erosion into the spring, and to begin
gating the property.

We are helping to sponsor the Yucatan 2000 Expedition that will explore
the caves around Merida, Mexico. This project is also working with local
officials to better understand the hydrogeology of the area and to educate
the residents on protection of their groundwater.

We are looking into another project that will explore a lava system in
Oregon.

We had updates on meetings attended with DEP on issues concerning the
users of Florida Parks. One of their big concerns is the study by all the
Water Management Districts on Minimum Flows for the springs and rivers in
Florida. One example they showed had the minimum flow set at 10% below the
average flow for the last ten years. Their data also showed the average
flow has been steadily declining for the last 50 years and they attribute
that directly to development tapping into groundwater. This is an issue all
cave divers should be concerned about.

We talked about helping with improvements to Alachua Sink to control
erosion and make access safer.

We approved the Training Committee request to distribute our Standards and
Procedures on CD, and saved the Section $2,000 in printing costs.

These are just some of the items we worked on. Our minutes are published
in UWS for anyone to read. This Board of Directors is committed to working
for cave diving and our membership.

Mike, the minutes of the last two CDS BOD meetings will show just how
lame you are as an organization. The record shows how little you have done
for cave diving. The minutes will show that one big issue with you "people"
is what booze to serve at CDS socials. Real impressive for your "good
reputation".

Wayne Marshall spent full time attacking me and the WKPP, he went to the
NSS about us, and then he got caught stealing $25,000 from the till. I will
not go into what he was found to be doing with the money, but he joins a
long list of reputed scum of all flavors in the "community" that we will
not tolerate in the WKPP. I love it when my biggest enemies are always the
lowest insects.

Your current Head Goober is one Steve Omeroid who censored Beth Somers
and then fired her as editor for printing an article in the UWS that was
written by me. That makes three UWS editors who have been fired for printing
articles written by me. This article was about the World Record cave dive -
I guess that is not what you want in UWS - again - real stupid on your part,
and very telling about the organization.

WKPP members did get involved with the CDS and NACD for a brief time
there, but what we found were a cover for cave diving "instructors" of the
lowest order, a bunch of trailer trash fast slobs and congenitally stupid
red necks who are trying to eek out a living prostituting our sport under
cover of the NSS/CDS.

NO THANKS, MIKE - the WKPP and GUE will go their own way, and will take
over , and are in fact now far larger than the CDS, and far more productive.
You all need to take up golf and get out of our game. We are totally and
permanently done with the CDS.

We are where the action is, and don't forget it.

As Mr. George Irvine points out, the time the CDS Board spent
discussing the WKPP is indeed wasted time. We should be spending our time
talking about making the sport and our organization better. We should be
spending our time giving CDS members a better value for their dues. We
should be talking about how to educate the public on why the once crystal
clear Wakulla Springs is green the majority of the time from nitrate
pollution. We should be talking why the Falmouth-Cathedral System is in the
same condition. We SHOULD be working together to address some of these
issues together, as a united front, rather than bickering over petty
differences and events that are way past. If we don't, it isn't going to
matter much longer, because in 20 years our springs will be cesspools from
pollution and nitrate loading and barely flowing because development and
industry is sucking up the groundwater and huge pipelines will be draining
our rivers to carry water to South Florida.

The CDS Board is considering a request that the NSS review its
endorsement of the WKPP project status because we are tired of the Director
of the WKPP continually attacking our name and reputation. We have no
problem with the WKPP itself. It is indeed a worthwhile and successful
project. We would like to work with the WKPP to further our mutual goals,
but this is impossible with the constant attacks.

Wayne Marshall is gone. We have put in procedures to prevent a repeat
of that situation. Checks have to be signed by two Board Members, the
Treasurer and Chairman, and must be written by the Administrative Manager.
We are now in the best financial shape we have been in years and we have the
resources to begin providing real benefits to cave diving and our
membership. We have gone beyond Wayne Marshall and George needs to get over
it as well.

Steve Ormeroid did indeed offer to refinance Cow Springs. Our current
mortgage is at 10.25% interest and a balloon payment of $13,000 is due in
February 2002. Steve offered to refinance now at 5.9% or whatever the
minimum IRS-imputed interest rate is at the time of closing. Because Steve
is a Board Member, there is a conflict of interest, but Counsel advised that
the conflict was waivable by the Board. However, after much discussion and
soul-searching, the Board determined that the conflict of interest was too
great and voted not to accept the proposal. Its a dead issue now.
