Be careful what you say, as soon as they see iantd and Mount getting away
with this shit, they'll be on board, as well as TDI, NAUI, and every other
organization that is trying to make a buck off the uninformed and naive.
You can't blame the people taking these courses either, they are being fed a
line of bullshit a mile long. If they were told what they should be, they'd
all either give up diving, or go to GUE.

Wow! Even PADI requires the student to be Advanced Open Water and at least
15 years old for Cavern.

No it is something you do not understand it is the truth

By the way yes we do have an overhead course for 12 year olds cavern not
cave and not intro cave. They have to do it with their guardian and dive with
the guardian who is most likely the parents or if the legal guardian someone
they trust a lot.

Would you rather that the parents just take their kids on these dives with
no training because they do when not given the ability to have them trained.
and they are kept on OW gear. For many in central Florida and other similar
areas there is little option for diving if they do no go into a cavern

I think you will find IANTD was not the first to offer this program and it
will not be the last. We usually lead in this case we followed but better
trained than just following the parents. No they cannot dive unsupervised,
yes we think this will prevent accidents. and it has been in the standards
for many years it is not new.
