As you may suspect, a higher percentage of OW women divers than men do not wish to apply themselves to the exactness or rigors of cave diving. All too many women were raised with the notion that such things that require an indepth understanding of processes and equipment are beyond them. There are some very good female cave divers but alas I have seen too many who are dependant on their buddy for decisions all the time. There are some wimpy man in this catagory as well. Now let the flames roar :) Sam frushour On Fri, 5 May 2000, Claudia Milz wrote: > Date: Fri, 5 May 2000 10:53:55 -7:00 > From: Claudia Milz <cmilz@mi*.ed*> > To: cavers@cavers.com > Subject: women and overhead diving > > List, > > Another curious question ... > we all know that there are not hordes of women doing technical dives. > Which is neither bad nor good, it just is. > I would like to know if you guys have good or bad experiences and > maybe even prefer to dive with a specific gender because of those > experiences. > Also, what do you find to be the difference regarding personality, > attitude etc between the average female OW diver and the one that > does overhead dives? > > Thanks, > Claudia >
