Bruic , Bob,

You hit this one right on the head. As a NE wreck diver who took full cave
as a means of gainng more "over head experiance" I had no idea of how
exttensive
and demanding that trianing would involve. Technical, phsical, and mentaly ,
especialy in the FL cave systems . I took cavern/intro foar a little over
a week ,
then came back a year later for Apr/full cave. Makes a padi course look like
kindergarden. The noui dive course was better than the padi cource I took.
I started a noui one in NYC and finished a padi one whenI was abroad. Full
cave made all that a walk in the park.

Unfurtunaltley I havent been cave diving in long while. Mean while I do
follow the list,
Have a nss card , but am not any further active in cave, although I am
still highly
interested in cave diving.

So You are absalutely correct in that only a few are hohly involved in
these cantankerous issues.

I HIghly respect those who are trying to clean up the sport , as the more
needless deaths there are the more we as sport divers will have our rights
taken away.Bruic has spunk and a lot of balls to take the stand that he
has. So Bruick I can only suport you from affar , as I have only been
following this along on the internet.

Some are far better than others. Those that are "hosing" there students
should be removed , or done away with. I was sold a ton of shit after I was
certified. Still have some of it. I dident realize how much I had been
hosed , till I was on a group trip to Billy Deans , and the instructor
sugested I try out wings and doubles , as they were much more conductive to
the wreck diving I wanted to do. He also happened to be full cave certified
as well , hence his influence.(Bernie Chowdhury) Needless to say , I went
home with a new set of wings , and hardware. That cost a lot at that time ,
prices have gon down. But it shows how with the right direction can make a
very big diffence in the outcome.

All it took was one dive , boy was the rig balanced. I was using a single
with a pony that swung every where with the bc. The doubles were like
magic. They were like even more magic when I got in better shape , and was
able to do two dives on one set.

Unfortunally after the death of a freind , and some other personal reasons
, I havent been an active diver for the lastcouple of years. But I dearly
wait till I can become active agien , esplecialy to coming back down to FL
for some more cave diving. As it is , the selection gets smaller and smaller.

I do plan on visiting GUE and realy hope to take them up on some
instruction. Things have realy changed a lot from when I took full cave
with Berman. I realy do like what I see from the Hogarth and "wkpp" style
of diving. Makes a lot of sence , and it makes even more to hear it direct
from the hoses mouth.

Well Off my soap box now.
