Bill, Haven't been diving here is a few years have you? The visibility in the last 4-5 years has really improved. Now bad viz. is considered anything less than 20 foot. On most wrecks 30 foot is the norm with other wrecks having much more. Still not Florida viz. but much better that in the past! I've even done inlet dives with 45 foot or so of viz., it's rare but has happened. Usually the inlets in NJ are about 10-15, which is not bad for an inlet that always has a current except for slack time... Sadly, I can confirm this to be true. I have not had a good bagel since moving away from Brooklyn in 1993 and the New York "style" pizza in Miami is -- like most things down here -- all style and no substance. Grits fortunately have been largely driven underground by us transplanted Northerners who appreciate the finer things in life -- like *visibility* when we go wreck diving. When I get homesick for diving off of New York and New Jersey, I just take a marker and black out my mask. Best regards -- Bill
