Bill, Most of us here for any lenth of time have been TOTALY FUBARed as with tregards to gear. I meaN COMPLETELY SCTREWED. I have three us divers regs in the corner , Finaly found some one to o2 clean them and use them on deco bottles and pony baootles. Not to count one set of Genisis hundreds , and one set of 120s , they both get whiped almost every two years due to there propensity to rust. Then there is all the misilanios gear such as bcs and counsoles ect... Get the drift. Thanks to a trip to florida , at Billy deans , I got turned onto wings and the cave community. Over the yeasr I have got Full cave. It was only oduring and after my full cave endevors that I realized how deep I was screwed. Luckily I ended up with Steve Berman and He , Bernie Chowdhury and Keven O,brian as well as the list and cavers from florida have open my horizions. Remeber back when the rouses baoutht it , Now tony smith has baought it as well. The first realy shook me up , And I know am mulling when and if I will countinue diving. The car wash bull shit need to stop some where. Especialy in teaching advanced open water. We have padi giving out C cards after five dived ect... Man it took me a year to go from cavern to Full cave. My instructer was Not going to accept sub par preformance. You either had the skill leval , or you did not get your c card. He did not care how much you spent or how far you came. You did not get your card till ha said so. When he saw what he wanted , then he gave you the card. Unfortunitly , The good instructers have no power once the student set off on his own path. The path taken by the studen is under his conrol , not the instructer. You can not teach good Judgement. J.F.K. Jr. paid the ultimat price , not only his own , but those with him. >At what Car Wash were you advised to purchase double bladder wings for Deep >Ocean Diving? > >Or maybe this was during a visit to Monkey Jungle in the Redlands, >Apparently the great ape is becoing talkative again. > > >-----Original Message----- >From: Caruso, Christina R (Christina) <ccaruso@lu*.co*> >To: 'Kevin Connell' <kevin@nw*.co*> >Cc: cavers@cavers.com <cavers@cavers.com> >Date: Friday, July 23, 1999 10:55 AM >Subject: RE: Scubapro Super Tek dual bladder wings for sale > > >>Most tech groups currently recommend Hogarthian set ups or minimization, >but >>I have seen numerous editorials defending redundancy for deep ocean diving >>and last year there was an article (in Deep Tech I think..) that suggested >>dual BCs as an option for this.
