I have a fairly new (a couple months and ~10 recharge cycles) primary light charger (Schumacher 12V/1.5A) that's stopped working. It failed midway through a liveaboard trip, so power source may be questionable but nobody else on the trip reported problems. It won't charge a battery at all. When it's powered on with no load besides the voltmeter I read 0V across the banana plugs. I've checked simple things like continuity of the external wires and plugs. I opened it and don't see any charring or obviously broken components. The green "power" LED comes on, so my guess is that the failure is in the electronics rather than in the transformer. Is there anything else I should check before heading over to Wal-Mart's dive gear department for a $25 replacement? At that price, it doesn't seem worth spending too much time to diagnose/repair, unless this were to become a chronic problem. How often do these things fail anyway? Thanks... - Todd
