>He owns a dive shop and had all his personal gear plus some brand >new gear not yet delivered to customers. Dear Bob - Sorry to hear about the rip off. Nothing I can do about whats been done, but I have a recommendation. Contact EVERY manufacturer of the stolen gear, give them the serial numbers and eventually send them a copy of the police report. They can notify all people authorized to service this gear, and have serial numbers in case they get the gear for service. Contact the local dives shops and do the same. The cylinders need to be visualed and hydo-ed, and someone just might run across them. Lets all make it as difficult as possible for thieves to get away with this, or people who buy dive gear and know its probably hot. I am an instructor here in Southern California and teach my students NOT to put a dive sticker on their car. Thieves know that little flag means $ 5,000 in two duffle bags in the trunk. Best of luck.
