Speaking as an obese diver who has dove shallow wrecks (<100ft, such as the Washingtonian) and who wants to progress into wreck/tech diving ... I"m concerned lest my size will brand me permanently "unfit". How would the techdiver standard be written? Height and weight tables? Running/jogging time "points" scoring like the Army fitness tests? Or will it be based on one's ability and stamina in the water? Am glad I got a membership in an indoor pool next door to my office ...! (And I hope swimming a mile three times a week will be enough to count!)
