Responding to the message of <199707081311.JAA19300@mi*.pr*.co*> from BDCY36A@pr*.co* (MR CHARLES BADOIAN): > > > Is anyone diving, any good charters that people know about for North > New England? > > Any good diving stories. > Charles, I dove the Coyote outside of Boston Harbor on Saturday. Beautiful day, maybe a half foot sea, wind less than 10 knots, clear skies. Vis on the bottom was at least 25ft. Ned Jose and I put a mooring on the wreck, attached to the portside boiler. Only took 3-4 minutes, then took a tour of the entire wreck quickly, just to see if it had fallen in at all (It's a wooden hulled ship). It's still intact, lots of big cod on the wreck, fishing jigs everywhere. Lots of fishing nets. Water was cold, the temp didn't get above 50 until the 10 ft deco stop. Surface vis was over 50ft. Also, had friends that went to the BASS on Sunday. According to them, it was awesome. Decent visibility, a handwheel came up. Duffy had to move a metal shelf that someone tried to put through the hatch in the stern (why they tried to take a steel shelf, no one knows). Whoever it was just left the shelf below the hatch when they realized it wouldn't fit, making it very tough to get in/out. If you're interested, they're going back out this Sunday from what I understand. I could hook you up with them if you're interested in diving the BASS. I'll be off diving some wrecks outside Boston Harbor I think. Take care, John John Lydon jlydon@zi*.ne*
