Buoys are being planted on the wrecks at Whitefish Point up in Lake Superior. So far we have Buoyed the Comet, Vienna, Sadie Thompson, and Superior City. The rest will be marked as weather and scheduling permit. As of 5/4/97 the water was a balmy 34 degrees F with 20-30 foot visibility. Over the next month or so vis should improve to 40' or so in the bay, better out in the lake. The bottom temps will be in the 40's. Buoy status and wreck and other diving information is listed on the Whitefish Point Underwater Preserve web page: http://www.rust.net/~taylor/mupc/wfish/wfish.htm This year we are collecting Lat/Lon numbers with the GPS. Numbers will be posted on the web page as they become available.
