This summer we again will offer at the University of Maine's Darling Marine Center two courses in maritime archaeology: Underwater Archaeology Remote Sensing (ANT 490) May 12-May 23 3 credits This is a methods course wherein the students learn the basics of remote sensing and get to use various equipment in the water. and Shipwreck Sites: Archaeological and Historical Investigations (INT 440) June 2- June 13 3 credits This is a methods course which covers the process, rather than the history of, shipwreck site investigation. These are both concentrated courses that run every day for two weeks. Both include field work on intertidal sites, but neither involves diving on underwater sites.
