It used to be used for reeling in some kind of net on the back of a fishing boat. Usually you clip the reel to your body, well with this baby you clip your body to the reel! I use a 4000lb lift bag with this unit, and I rent it to Pippin when he's doing those record dives (where did YOU think the line came from?). It uses 3/4 inch steel cable which, as you know, is biodegradable. When you have to shoot an emergency up-line I fire up a couple of airline emergency oxygen generators and shove them in the bag. You know, I recently ordered a couple of dozen of those generators, but for some reason the shipment never got to me. That's the last time I let my buddies down at the terminal smuggle stuff on airplanes to save on shipping, sheeze!
