Folks; Just watched Ballards show on the Brittanic. Good production, great shots, interesting story line...although nothing solved as usual. Basically I really enjoyed this until Ballard stated he "Firmly beleives all wreck sites should be left undisturbed!" and also referring to the Lusitannia as "a pile of junk at the bottom of the ocean". Seems Mr. B. doesnt know what he really believes. If a ship as historic as the Lusitannia is nothing but junk then why protect it. Or maybe is it that unless its in good enough condition to make a production out of then it wont serve his purposes ($$$). The irony here is that his silly ROVS are great at thousands of feet but for the Brittanic fell woefully short(410'). If he had some experienced mix divers go in maybe the question of whether the watertight doors were open or not may have been answered. I generally get the impression that he is unwilling to work with the dive community in general, and unless there is a payday for his causes will bad mouth the rest. Beware those that would stop you because of their altruistically marketed hypocrisy. What do you folks think???
