Speaking of Thanksgiving, I too will be in the High Springs Branford area to scuba dive around Nov. 18-25 and would welcome the chance to put a "real live face" with the personality of other cave diver listserv members. I am not a cave diver, but I will be there completing a cavern diver course as a sampling into the speciality. Although, I spent half my life living in Miami, FL and the other half in the Washington DC area, my extensive scuba diving experience is strictly Atlantic & Gulf Wreck Diving. I have carefully read Ken's NSS-CDS / NACD Full Cave Diving Safety Notice and have a lot of reservations about entering any underwater cavern or cave. I agree with it whole-heartedly, that is why I will be trying my first cavern dives in a cavern diving course. I have been lurking for some time on this list and fully respect the opinions of it's members. Any suggests or recommendations for a completely novice caver would be greatly appreciated so I do not look, feel or act like a puttz in the presence of such a vast array of experienced cavers. Should I dive dry or use my wet suit? How would my gear configuration very between wreck and cave? My instructor's itinerary of some of our dive sites are Ginni, Blue Grotto, Devils Den, Peacock, Orange Grove, Little River, Neil Watt's place? Any comments about these sites or others to try for cavern? Thxs for reading, safe diving always, Dawn (SalvanD@wa*.co*) ---------- >From: KDAVENPORT >To: Cave Divers List >Subject: Thanksgiving >Date: Sunday, November 05, 1995 3:38PM > >If anyone has plans to be in the High Springs Branford area >around thanksgiving and would like to dive >let me know I will be down on the 22nd. >Kevin >
