The problem as I see it is that your fill now depends on a number of parameters: the tank volume must be known, the density of the gas must be fixed (fixed pressure and temperature), the flowrate must be monitored at all times and time becomes a factor. What's the uncertainty in all this ? I don't know. Compare this to using pressure: For a given temperature a measurement of the pressure tells you the density of the gas to the same accuracy as you pressure gauge. Details regarding the fill: rate, temperature, chilling bath etc are irrelevant (as is the exact volume of the pressure vessel into which we add these gases). john
