One of my jobs is doing anesthesia. (no, not in the bars) I have always read with interest and doubt the threads over the years about tiredness after diving. N2 is a very insoluable anesthetic at pressure compared to many other anesthetics. Although you may not think so while doing a long hang, it leaves the body fairly fast. The tiredness is probably just like recovery from anesthesia to a much lesser degree, but I think there are many other factors. The plain old stress from anesthesia is significant, no matter what the gas or agent. This is surely part of it. One thing really bothers me about all these discussions is that they are all a LARGE series of ONE in the scientific research. The world is too full of anicdotal evidence (like the silicone suits) and we really need a study. The placebo effect is VERY strong and if somebody tells me this mix will make me feel better, it will in many cases even if it does nothing. Hell, I'm sure I'd be tired after just hauling equipment, suiting up, the adrenilin rush from the anticipated fun, and doing it again without breathing more than .79atm of N2. Many Variables, and not enough facts. Art PS somewhere in this thread someone claimed to have been in a chamber to 220 ft on pure O2 and he still posted a note here. Maybe I really can take my computer with me when I meet the maker. Anti-oxident vitamins really work!
