<<<<<<<<<<< That is why (as Richard Pyle said on Tue31 Oct 1995 10:10:45 -1000 (HST) German military rebreather divers PRACTICEbuddy-breathing a rebreather, so they get it right when they have to do it. Also, I see no reason why some rebreathers shouldn't have a second breathingtube to a second mouthpiece, packed in a small attached bag or compartment soit won't trail in the water.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sorry bad day in the lab and I was feeling particularly intolerant. I only read Rich's post afterwards about the Germans practicing buddy breathing on CCR. Well if they think it will work..... As for me I think it would be far and away too much stress. Another mouthpiece/loop maybe. As for open circuit bailout that would be the best option but still would not be buddy breathing which is hard enough for folks to do without having to worry about the extra problems of a rebreather. Any way I though these things were designed so that the only way you are going to get a complete system failure is if you lose the loop, scrubber, and breathing bag. As long as that is intact you can drive it manually. So a complete failure should be unlikely. John M. Gibbons 0171-793-1101 Home Univ.
