The high-pitched voice caused by helium is caused not by its unreactiveness but by the lightness of its molecules (H2 = 2, He = 4, N2 = 28, O2 = 32), so the vocal cords can move faster. What is the voice pitch like when breathing hydrogen-oxygen mixture? I have heard of hydrogen as a diving diluent despite its explosiveness. (P.S. Another `Question of Gas' is when the dive boat's course and also the wind are steady and you find that you are straight downwind from the carbon mo(NOx)ious blastings from the dive boat's engine's dirty brrrm pipe. Unlike in a land vehicle which is fast enough to always leave it behind.)
