Okay! Remember this?

Some 2 weeks ago, I posted about finding submersible spotlights which
used a MR(x) lightbulb in a hardware store.

I (finally) went back for more details.

The spotlights are manufactured by "Design Craft", and the part number is
"DC 22709". It sells for less than $40 canadian, but this includes a weighed
base and a transformer. However, being pressed in time, I could not ask
questions, so I do not know if those lamps are available separately, and I
do not have the manufacturer's address either, it was not marked on the box,
and peering inside the well-opened box, I did not find any trace of an
instruction manual.

The flange appears to be sealed by a gasket, which, I believe, could be
replaced by an O-ring. The walls of the spotlight appear to be sturdy
enough, however, neither playing a structural engineer nor being one in real
life leaves me rather clueless in that respect.

(It's so funny: the friend I was with when we went to the hardware store
asked me:

  - Why do you go through all that trouble to make yourself a diving light?
Can't you just go to the divestore and buy one?

  - Sure I can do it... But they charge $800 for it. So, I'd rather pay
something like $150 in material and enjoy making it myself...

    *** ALSO ***

During the same visit, in an adjacent merchandise display, I saw some
tiny MR(x)-like bulbs, which were less than 2 cm in diameter. This could
mean an interesting development for helmet-mounted lights, or for tiny
camcorders...
