After following the recent posts regarding OMS and having a personal
experience with a leaky burst disc I called John Griffith who owns OMS. I've
been a user of OMS equipment for several years and found the equipment and
service to be more than adquate and satisfactory. As usual one reading posts
here should assume incomplete and not necessarily unbiased information from
ALL sources. John's response follows:

Subject: Internet Response
Relative to the comments on the internet.

Burst Plug/Disc assemblies-The persons issuing statements regarding these
assemblies leaking have a legitimate concern. About 2 years ago we received
120 manifolds with an aluminum seating washer. The aluminum washer due to
galvanic reaction gradually lost its sealing capability resulting in small
leaks in the burst Disc assembly area.
Upon identification of the problem, we immediately respecified the entire
burst disc assembly along CGA guidelines and specified an inert, Oxygon
compatible washer. This rectified the problem.
Most if not all of our OMS dealer base had been notified and offered these
replacement washers at no charge. If we have missed anyone, we apologize,
and would like to rectify this situation as soon as possible.

OMS Manifold Valve O-Ring sealing method-Prior to marketing our valve we
researched and talked with numerous O-Ring design engineers regarding the
optimum method of sealing a high pressure valve: at the crossbar to valve
body interface.
It was determined after careful study that one of the safest and most
reliable sealing techniques, is the captured O-Ring method presently utilized
on all DIN 477 standard 1st stage regulators. OMS valves use the same, exact
captured O-Ring sealing method.

OMS Stainless Backplate/Harness System-If any OMS customers have experienced
problems with webbing abrasion we invite you to call your local authorized
OMS dealer for a no-charge fix. We stand behind our entire productline and
want you to be happy with your equipment.

My apoligies to Ronnie for posting this to both bbds. For most posts I agree
with him.

Have a pleasant....
Bill Pilicer

PS If I understood my source correctly the OMS tanks are mfgd to be able to
be cycled to 4000psi 10,000 times.
