I've used (and still do occasionally) an automotive cooling hose
for exhaust guidance on an old Scubapro unbalanced reg.
If I made the hose longer I would approach what you want but
I'd experiment to make sure the the hose would work as intended.
(I foresee some problems but at a first glance they seem
solveable).
