However, I'm not sure it's really appropriate for the discussion at hand, because virtually all divers are taught very early on that deep diving is exceedingly dangerous, so they already know it. It gets dangerous when they hear of other people successfully doing such dives (regardless of how emphatically the dangers are underscored), and jump to the (usually erroneous) conclusion that they could do such dives successfully as well.
