To everybody, I have been shown 2 different regulator configuartion for rigging twin cylinders. At this point I do not wish to discuss pony bottles, deco bottles, long hoses, manifolds, etc just the regulators on the 2 cylinders containing the bottom mix. For many years I was told that the reg not in your mouth was the octopus or that you donated the one in your mouth and you swapped to the other reg. Recently I was told that this was not a good idea and that one of the regulators should have 2 second stages with the second one available for your buddy should they need it. The second system sounds like you could easily end up with 2 people breathing from one cylinder and then being left with 1 second stage between 2 people. If you could comment on either method I am interested to hear your points of view. Also are there any documented studies or tested procedures on what a diver should do if they mistakenly omit a deco stop(s) and then realise their error either before or after surfacing and there is sufficient gas. I am already aware of the old Navy ommited deco procedure. David O.
