Sorry folks, but I need a moment on a soap-box...

	As a relatively new person to this list and a not very 
experienced tech diver, I must say I'm alarmed by the lack of control 
exercised by many people on this list.  
	I find it unfortunate that the cavers list was almost shut down, 
as many people do, but I can understand some of the reasoning for it.  
If the s:n ratio is alarmingly high, people will not bother with a list.  
Take Techdiver as an example...there were an alarming number of 
unsubscribes in the last "flame-for-all."  As for the diver evaluations 
of gear/programs  vs slamming, I hope that everyone can find a little 
time to point 
out what they don't like.  Doing so will help us, the newer people, when 
it comes to finding the right gear and couses, and will allow a company to 
improve its product.
	Sorry to seem like I'm lecturing, but I'd hope that people might 
find a little more professionalism/civility and that it could be applied 
to this list.
