It sounds like Dive Rite is going to be blamed for the closing of the Cavers List. At this point it would seem that a response from them should be forthcoming, and quickly at that. If they are in fact innocent, and Ken received no pressure from Dive Rite, or any in their employment. Then they are in need of some serious damage control. The timing is what looks bad here. Is it actually possible that a bad review of their gear has prompted this type of response. Remember, the people reporting on their experiences, with any piece of dive gear, are the opinions of the writers, not the list. Even if the moderator expresses an opinion that is unfavorable to a certain manufacturer, or piece of equipment. This is no reason to bring to bare any outside force to his or her place of employment. If someone is doing a lousy job, then there are grounds for notifying a boss or supervisor. In this instance, Ken was doing an excellent job, and stepped in several times to be the calming effect that was needed. Someone, somewhere has overreacted, and we need to know if a moderator, or listserver is in anyway responsible for the content of what "airs" to it's subscribers. If so, where do we go from here? Steve
