I'm greatly disappointed to see cavers closing down. Especially after
we all (I think agreed to mellow out). You have done an excellent job
with this forum. You are even a good peace keeper, when we push you to
the point you have to be. Sorry if our madness caused this closure.

After reading several postings about Dive rite contributing to this
closure I placed a call to Lamar Hires. I wanted to talk to Mark as
well but he is still in the UK. Lamar had just returned tuesday night.
Lamar stated he was totally unaware of the cavers shutting down, and
that neither he nor diverite did anything to influence this action. He
has not even had time since returning to download all the files dealing
with the past SEVERAL weeks. He stated he supports freedom of
expression and only observes the net activities. So maybe those reading
the post may wish to investigate if Dive Rite influenced this action.

I have known Lamar for a long time and he has always been straight
forward and truthful. I tend to beleive that HE had no role in this. I
guess we will have to form our own opnions. In your post you did not
state they closed cavers but I thought it was implied as do the
majority of folks reading this.

Anyway I just tend to go direct to the horses mouth when I want an
answer thus I called dive rite and we have Lamars answer to me on the
record.

Again for whatever reason, I'm sad that this communication line has
been closed off and I hope somehow another cave line will be put in
place. Even with all the crap that sometimes comes up, an awful lot of
good info is there. The debates on equipment config, although this time
got out of hand, I think is good because they provide multiple looks at
config and types of gear. A good open discussion would be someday to
list each (not brand) item used and take a look at all the methods
members of the debate use to set it gear. Then debate the + and - of
each until the list is complete. We may all do changes of some minor or
major degree if such an open forum and brainstorming took place on the
net.
