Maybe I came off against cavers somewhat. Let me backup a bit,
I think that the cave divers training is great. From what I hear
and read about the requirements for instructors and divers the
system of training developed for cave diving should be emulated
by the mainstream scuba agencies or AT LEAST the (dare I say it)
Tech agencies (N2O2, Trimix, etc).

I also think that the VOCAL MAJORITY of cave divers on this
list are mouthy, whiney, brats. If they had something to add
instead of flaming everyone that comes along this would be
an enjoyable, informative list - as it was intended. That is also
my opinion, and I welcome the chance for enlightenment, but I
don't think anyone is going to change my mind by telling me
bluntly how biggoted and ignorant I am.

That the two groups quarrel, no one will deny. And all I stated
was an observation, Bill. That cave divers are more vocal about
how poorly everyone else dives is documented every day even here
on Techdiver. If the biggest mouths on this net aren't cave divers
then who are they? And yes there are quite a few wreck divers
who get mouthy here as well, but most are cave divers.

But I will add that I KNOW that the majority of cave divers are
diving for the same reasons that I am, they enjoy diving. They
don't dive so they can say how great they are and how stupid
everyone is. They don't dive so they can say how deep they've
gone or how far into a cave they've made it. They don't dive
so the can show you all the gear they own or their perfect
ways of wearing it. They dive because they like to dive.
That's why I'm here.

Again, and quite obviously, this is just my opinion.
