I prefer the plastic quick-releases.  Why am I ont of the only ones who
sees the value of being able to get out of a rig quickly underwater? I
guess I'm one of the very few who learned to dive with a Hawaiian-style

Not that much more difficult - I don't have any difficulty.  Besides, there 
should be two bladders in there, meaning that two simultaneous failures 
are needed before manual inflation is required.

Me too. We talked about doing this a long time ago, but we never got 
around to actually getting the gizmos.  And I agree with the rest of your 
points.
