Here are some comments on the picture of Billy B Mix in Scientific American. Just something to mull over. Mitts- makes un-clipping reel, liftbags, regs rather difficult. If the water is that cold, here are the Poseidon ice caps. Clip on shoulder strap- plastic, weak point. MOD on cylinders so small almost undetectable. Hard to check diver from distance. O2 cylinder same colour as nitrox, and big enough for hundreds of minutes of deco. Nemesis dive computer-(replaces SPG) any pilot will tell you how much better digital is over analogue or determining status at a glance. NOT. Free diving fins. BC inflator covers Drysuit inflator, making detachment of same difficult in an emergency. BC inflator hose covered by neoprene, making detachment in an inflator failure more difficult. Using "bungeed" wings, presumably more difficult to orally inflate in emergency. And most American of all use of manifold for open water dives where it is usual to be solo diving, or is easy to be separated from buddy. Apart from that, I like the EPIRB. Rod Nairne.
