Subject:RE>>Real Deep Air Sam wrote >Whats DDRC? Sorry - Diving Diseases Research Centre DDRC was originally developed as a treatment centre for commercial and recreational divers; also as a diving medicine research centre. It is centred around three diving chambers linked as a saturation system with a depth capability of beyond 200 metres. Offices, plant, laboratories and a library complete the layout. They have expanded the Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment for non-diving patients which helped to reduce and stablise costs The centre is tucked away in a small building beneath the car park of Fort Bovisand diving school just to the South of Plymouth's historical seafront, The Hoe. Although the centre is small, the catchment area for diving accidents covers the coastline from Cardigan in West Wales to Bournemouth in Dorset and including the Isles of Scilly.
