  What is `SPARE AIR'? Who makes it? You write as if it is a tradename for a
particular diving device rather than merely the sum of the meanings of the two
words `spare' and `air'.
  Flame on at whoever invented this tradename: I hereby defy and ignore any
attempt by lawyers etc to stop me from using the natural and likely expression
"spare air" in its ordinary role as the sum of two ordinary very common
English language words. I won't be forced by laws and lawyers to circumlocute
round expressions that I have used all my life.
  Similarly, to me and to many in England the open-circuit demand-valve-supply
underwater breathing set is an `aqualung', without a capital letter or hyphen,
regardless of who made or supplied it, and US Divers Corp are 40 years too
late to turn it back into a preserved tradename on my side of the Atlantic.
