IANTD and ANDI > are probably quick to criticize PADI for the proliferation of mini-courses > for pay - how about they recognize it in their own agencies. Yes, good point! However, while I'm not very familiar with IANTD, I was certified by ANDI in their only Nitrox (SafeAir (tm) to them) course, and have had no trouble getting any O2 fraction I want at any ANDI facility. The richest I have ever gotten was 80% O2. OTOH, I have yet to try to get a fill at a non-ANDI shop (read: IANTD). Can't wait till someone turns down my ANDI card, at which time I get to yell and scream about the new agencies being just like the old ones they complain about. Other stuff: I heard a rumor the other day that SSI may be developing a Nitrox course. Any content to that? With the popularity SSI has gained of late (seems like lots of PADI defections), that could really help Nitrox and help with cert stds. I wonder how Ed Betts (ANDI owner) will take this: his shop is SSI. Though I haven't had the guts to ask him... > Pat Shaw [dps@mi*.bc*.ca*] -frank -- fhd@pa*.co* | "Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, 1 212 559 5534 | "and go on 'till you come to the end; then stop." 1 917 992 2248 | -- Lewis Carroll, _Alice in Wonderland_ 1 718 746 7061 |
