JR: I may be one of the two individuals you are referring to. My friends and I are tired of being offended by Irvine. I've been in the dive business for 33 years and have never known anyone as abusive as George. We don't even know the guy but are regularly subjected to his garbage. This is intolerable. I dive professionally around the world and must dive what the job requires and what the work rules allow. I apologize for wasting the list's resources over the past few days. I will stop. The words "air" and "deep" are part of the English language and are not offensive to most people. In many parts of the world commercial labor laws and insurance regulations do not permit helium in scuba tanks for jobs, it must be surface supplied. If scuba is used it must be on air. This is an international list and the terms "air" and "deep" will inevitably come up. I have deliberately worded my messages to Irvine to avoid personal attacks. But, in the future I will not respond to him at all. My apologies to members of the list, as well.
