In reading the forward of the Navy Dive Manual Revision 3 vol 2 foreward it states,"As you peruse this manual, you will notice that the old Surface-Supplied Helium-Oxygen Partial Pressure Tables are missing. These tables have been replaced with the Minimum/Maximum Percent Oxygen Tables that ensure the limiting factor of oxygen never exceeds 1.3 ata." Doesn't say why. Is it because O2 during deco is used in such high pp? It seemed strange(only from the point of my ignorance) that the Navy would be so conservative relative to NOAA. I realize I'm mixing apples and oranges a bit ie nitrox vs heliox but I haven't seen anything that would indicate ppO issues should be different because of the other gases involved. Any light appreciated. Bill Pilicer
