From a look in an atlas I would imagine that there would be a #@$% of a tidal
rip current through the Bering Straits. In winter it sometimes freezes across
solid enough to walk across, if you are hardy enough to `endure the Grinding
Ice'. In summer (from what I have heard) in that sort of tundra the air is
sometimes 90% O2 and N2 etc & 10% mosquitoes, and thus out of water you would
be glad of an all-over rubber suit for other purposes than keeping warm.
