John HC asked how it feels to take off the full face mask:

Let me say, it is indeed a very large shock.  I also carry a spare mask to put
on, because it is cold enough on the face at 38deg. to make a man abort a dive
and poss. deco stops .  I have tried it as deep as 100' (I've also tried it
150' away from the ice hole ice diving), and it is manageable, but I don't
think a person could extend a stay.  Give it a try...no pain no gain.
