Ken Shallot asked: > So tell us, how hard of a crash did it cause for this DIN valve to > shear? Answer: I don't know. Although I was on the dive, I did not actually witness the event. There were a number of us scootering in and the guy in question (and he **is** in question!) was ahead of me in the tunnel. This happened at Ginnie, in Devil's and in the main tunnel, to boot. The diver was/is very familiar with this environment, so I was surprised it happened. I assume he was going full bore using a Tekna DPV-3 and hit the valve directly. Amazingly enough, he did this AGAIN, on a subsequent dive, one which I was not on. Needless to say, I won't dive with him any more. Concerning the strength of an A-yoke in the situation recounted above, I don't think the A-yoke would have fared much better. Ken, perhaps you should go ahead with that test involving a-yoke, DIN and sledgehammer, then report back to us. Video tape would be nice.... :) Bernie Chowdhury
