Yes, they in-gas slower, but in-gassing and out-gassing work on different gradients. All the the tables are generated assuming equal ingassing for all divers, and in fact only calculating off-gass times for the various tissue groups. As you can see from repetitive dive tables, off-gassing does not keep pace with in-gassing, and in fact should be modified for an individual's gas exchange potential. This is why the obese, low VO2 max diver might be safer on a 60 for 60, but after a surface interval of an hour the gradients driving both the low VO2 max and high VO2 max divers have changed dramatically, now favoring the high VO2 max diver. ....
