Do not dive unless your urine is clear. Drink at least two pints of water right before jumping in (while suiting up). Begin vigorous rehydration immediately upon exiting the water and continue hydrating for at least six hours after a big dive. For runtimes greater than 120 minutes find some way of ingesting fluids while on deco. For in-water hydration I use a two quart flexible bladder US issue canteen. I modify the top to accept a tube for drinking from. Alternately, you may be able to find the gas mask drinking adapter cap which will readily accept a tube for drinking. I keep my drinking apparatus in a chum bag on the 50' ring of my deco line. Fill the canteen with gatorade (not water) or another sports drink and off you go. - Tony Fill
