Please could someone give me the low down on this. >I'm a PADI instructor and I haven't heard squat about what is going on >since they made their last annoucement. I do not particularly want to start >teaching the stuff but I would certainely like to find out what they are >teaching. Hi John, I'm a PADI C.D. and talked with Drew Richardson about this topic on Monday of this week. Here is a synopsis of what he said ("unofficially"): 1.Release date for the Nitrox course will be at New Orleans DEMA show 2. ATA will be 1.4 3. EANx for 32 and 36 and OK to 40, though 32 and 36 will be more supported. 4. Manuals, student materials, tables, etc. will become available and will be similar in instructional design to other PADI materials. 5. For tech instructors, fear not. PADI does not want to put the squeeze on cross tech agency teaching so long as there are no conflicting PADI courses (so anything above Nitrox is OK with them under the banner of another agency). 6. No word on any OSHA ruling. Anyway, that's the way I heard it.-Dave xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Dave Schubert Executive Director, Dive USA Singer Island, FL. 33404 407/844-5100, FAX: 407/848-0627 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
