Someone on rec.scuba was enquiring what divers would be prepared to
pay for such a gadget.

Personally my answer to that would be `nothing' : there are many other
things to spend my money on, and this strikes me as something for
the gear junkies and fashion victims rather than something that would
be genuinely useful for real diving.

There are a number of interesting technical problems to be solved:

What are the implications for mask clearing? Presumably the display will
need to be connected in some way to a computer, so you would need to be
able to remove it without the connection causing a problem.

In the event you should wish to carry and use a spare mask, what happens
then?

How is a buddy supposed to monitor your dive details (particularly air
consumption)? Swap masks?
