George, Thanks for the informative post on why rigid RBCs are bad (i.e., conducive to DCS). Do you, or does anyone else on the list, know why/how eleveted PN2 causes the RBCs to be come rigid? The reason I ask is, I have heard from physiologist-types who study this stuff that helium may actually have something to do with HPNS after all. Something to do with massive quanitities of helium molecules affecting cell membranes. This is an area I am especially weak on, and would like to learn more.
