Well, after years on these lists (or at least techdiver, cavers is rather
new) I've decided to jump ship. While these lists used to boast some of
the highest signal/noise ratios of any of the unmoderated mail groups on
the net, they have dropped to near the bottom of the list these days and
it doesn't look like there will be much improvement in the near future. I
just can't afford the time anymore.

You know what really pisses me off? That I am no longer able to learn
things here that could save my life in a diving emergency. I used to get
info of that quality nearly every day here. And it was also given in an
unbiased, non-judgemental way which didn't intimidate anyone that set out
to learn. If that information is still hidden in the letters of the last
few months, I haven't been able to find it through all the bullshit. The
"D" paint on my keyboard is starting to wear and the damage is too
pervasive to be filtered by a kill file.

So if I do die in a diving accident and it's in all the papers doing
damage to the reputation of technical diving, remember that the ones that
yell "stroke" and whine for better training and standards are the ones
that turned me off and caused me to leave. Seems rather ironic, no?

Enjoy your flame wars. If things ever do get better here, I'd appreciate
it if someone would let me know. But in any case, thanks to all the
list "old timers" for all the volumes of information over the years. And
special thanks to Rich Pyle for taking the time to share his ideas. I
have probably learned more from him than anyone. You're a real class act,
Rich.

Later...
