diameter 8":: weight 45 lbs., buoyancy: neutral - calculated nominal with value
in sea water, material: 4130 chromium molybdenum steel, coating: black poly-

this was an ad some time ago, now they make 108's and 72's ... dive rite might

A while ago, someone started a thread about what scuba cylinders were in use
in various countries, which got on a tangent about fast fills and fluid dyna-
mics and such. I am interested in a survey of scuba cylinders used in other
countries. To restart the thread, here is a summary of cylinders in produc-
tion in the U.S. (reprinted w/o permission, Discover Diving, May/June 1989).
I would appreciate if anyone with foreign cylinder experience could post
information to add to the table below. Good diving!

Notes: pressures are in psi, dimensions are in inches, weights and bouancy
are in pounds. In the U.S. steel tanks (other than the Genesis) are certi-
fied at manufacture for a pressure 10% higher than the rated "working pres-
sure"; and at hydro test, may be recertified for the 10% "overfill" or the
normal working pressure, depending on the results of the hydro test. (I'd
be curious to know if this is the practice in any other countries.) All
cylinders are sold with yoke fittings except Genesis, which uses 200 bar
DIN fittings. "Empty" bouyancy refers to the really empty state, not 500
psi reserve.

I keep a miniature copy of this in my drybox. It has come in handy
several times.
