Here here! I was in Scapa the last week of August and the only sources of Nitrox are John Thornton on the "Karin" and the skipper of the "Triton" whose name escapes me. To say that all the skippers are happy for you to use nitrox is not strictly true, whilst none of them will stop you, one or two are a little wary of the "stuff" and life can be very aukward trying to get back to Stromness to catch John Thornton at the compressor. If you have a car it is easier as John will fill from his home in Kirkwall. Having said all this, once John finishes his boat repairs he plans to do the occasional cruise trip round Shetland which will remove one nitrox and the only trimix source from Scapa. I would suggest that if you want to dive technically that you try to get a place on the "Karin" then you have the best of all worlds. For anyone planning a trip....enjoy...its wonderful!!! Hope this is helpful. Ali. ******************************************************************************* Dr A.M.Lawrie, Dept.
