4 LP outlets are endeed enough for most divers. However, additional outlets
give more freedom to place hoses more conveniently and streamlined, very
important in wrecks (and in caves too, I suppose). For example, I need now
with the old 1st stage two LP swivels, with the new 1st stage I would need
just one LP swivel (and not at all the HP swivel!).

Advantages and disadvantages depends greatly from tank, BCD, drysuit and
2nd stage setup. For my setups the new 1st stage would fit better but I can
well think that somebody likes the old desing more.

I don't know what studder means and I didn't find it from three dictionary
either. However, many divers in our club (including me) purchased Poseidon
Odin/Jetstreams in spring 1990 and almost all of them vibrated and shaked
when inhaling. Problem was solved by tuning and by changing a metal disc
which guides the airflow in the 2nd stage. My old Odin/Jetstream (Cycklon
Maximum was the original name) -83 model has always worked better than this
newer -90 model. So, maybe the quality has declined.
