To all who replied to my question, thanks for the help. It's clear to
me that there are a lot of people on this list who use this computer.

I dove it yesterday for the first time. We did 3 dives; air to 90 feet,
EAN32 to 80 and EAN36 to 60. Dives were seperated by a 1 hour surface
interval.

Programming the computer on board the boat took some getting used to, but
after several unsuccessful attempts to set Mix 1 to 21%, I broke down and
read the instructions printed on the face of the dial-a-mix unit. Worked
fine after that, although the captain did comment on my use of an 'anal probe'
in mixed company :).

On the first dive my partner had to physically restrain me at 15 feet, as
I was watching the computer closely while ascending to my stop depth and
it was telling me I was at 37 feet. Confused, I checked my analog gauge,
nodded to my partner and completed the stop.

On my second dive, we compared the depth gauge on the Pro to my analog
gauge and his computer, all agreed with each other +/- 1 fsw at depth.
Perplexed, I continued the dive. On ascent, the Pro did the same thing,
but this time I was watching both my trusty sherwood, and the Pro. During
the hang, I noticed the Pro stop flashing and jump to 14fsw. Back on the
boat I figured out the problem was the WU (on my left arm) had been out
of range of the TU (on my backup second stage hose, right shoulder). When
I brought the Pro closer to my chest, it picked up the signal and displayed
the correct depth.

On the third dive, I checked the computer on the surface, hit the water,
began my descent and it shut down on me at 15 fsw without warning. I
continued the dive using my analog instruments.

Back on the boat, and later that night, I was unable to re-activate the
Wrist Unit, even thought the Tank Unit chirped happily whenever I beat
on it. In frustration (and preparation for sending it back) I removed
and replaced the batteries in the WU. It came on immediately and replayed
all three dives, including the one I did on gauges. When it powered
down, I was unable to activate it again until I did the remove and
replace batteries trick. Hmm.

So, I'm unhappy with the range on the WU. It seems like I should be able
to wear it on my left arm w/o experiencing random transmission failures.
Also, there's something wrong with the WU that causes it to shut down
permanently until I R&R the batteries. Not a real useful feature.

I'm going into town this afternoon to replace the batteries in the WU
to see if the power problem goes away. If it does, I still won't be real
happy since the machine has never indicated that either the TU or WU
batteries were low, but I suspect they are. I also hope this has
something to do with the feeble transmission radius. If it doesn't
I expect I'll be returning the unit. My tables have never done this
to me ;).

Regards,
Scott.
